How to get out of reckless driving ticket for speeding in VA? ?

I was driving on I-95 in VA, the cop pulled me of for going 89 in a 55mph zone. I had no idea I was going that fast, it was late at night and just going with the flow of traffic. This is my first speeding ticket ever. My driving record is fairly good with +2 or 3 points. Should I get a lawyer I would like to get the least punishment out of this, maybe Improper charge? Please advise and let me know since I've never gotten a speeding ticket. Plead guilty or not guilty?
