Which should i make for my one year olds?

I cant decide which one. I am making a fleece blanket for my friends baby, and the lady who cut the fleece gave me waaaaaaay too much. so i'm trying to decide what to do with the extra fleece i have. i dont have any other close friends with babies, so i was at first thinking of using the extra to make a blanket for work (i work at a daycare with one year olds) well, then i thought, i could also make scarfs for each of my one year olds for christmas. (i don't mind putting the time in. i kind of find it fun) so heres my question. do you think making scarfs are a cute idea... something parents would actually use for their one year olds, or should i make a blanket. also if i make a scarfs for them, how much material should i use???
